If breastfed, the baby's feeding should first be assessed by someone experienced in breastfeeding support, to confirm the diagnosis and improve attachment to the breast. Referrals can be made by a midwife, health visitor, infant feeding advisor or GP to Dr Peter Reynolds, a Neonatal Consultant at St. Peter's with a particular interest in tongue ties and feeding (Fax: 01932 723151). Referral forms and parent information leaflets are available from Dr Reynolds' secretary or the IFA's. Please inform GP of referral. Out-of-area referrals may be billed to the PCT. Royal Preston Hospital

Infants less than 3 months old are seen in clinic on Tuesday mornings and assessed jointly by the IFAs and Dr Gupta (or a member of her paediatric team). The frenulotomy procedure is performed by an ENT surgeon. Breast fed babies and bottle fed babies can be referred.
Referrals can be made by a midwife, health visitor, infant feeding advisor or GP to Dr Gupta via her secretary. Referral forms and parent information leaflets are available from Dr Gupta’s secretary or the IFA's. Please inform GP of referral.
